WHO ARE WE?
LEAP INITIATIVE born out of the pressing need to address poverty and inequality in Mathare slums, Nairobi. The rationale behind our organization stems from the recognition of the multifaceted challenges faced by marginalized communities, including limited access to education, economic opportunities and essential services. We aim to tackle these challenges head-on by empowering youths, women, orphans and vulnerable children through mentorship, empowerment and mental health programs.
Our primary solution
One of the primary problems we're addressing is the cycle of poverty perpetuated by systemic barriers and social injustices. Many individuals in Mathare lack the resources and support systems needed to break free from poverty's grip. By providing tailored programs and initiatives, we seek to equip community members with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to improve their livelihoods and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Our Holistic framework
1.Youth and Investment Program:
Our Youth and Investment Program aims to equip young individuals with essential financial literacy skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to empower them economically. Through workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions, participants will learn about budgeting, saving, investing, and starting their own businesses. We partner with local financial institutions and industry experts to provide mentorship and guidance, enabling youth to make informed decisions about their financial futures and contribute to economic growth in their communities.
2.Girl Impact Program:
The Girl Impact Program focuses on empowering girls and young women through education, mentorship, and leadership development. We provide academic support, life skills training, and mentorship opportunities to help girls overcome barriers to success and achieve their full potential. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and female leaders, we create a supportive environment where girls can thrive and become agents of change in their communities.
3.The Slum Drive Program:
A beacon of hope, directs its gaze towards nurturing the essence of life within informal settlements. With a symphony of community engagement, infrastructure enhancements, and the gift of skill mastery, we sow seeds of change to uproot the weeds of poverty and disparity. Empowering denizens to champion their cause and embrace vital services, our vision weaves a tapestry of enduring transformation, elevating souls and kindling a brighter horizon for generations yet to come.
4.Mental Health Awareness Program:
Our Mental Health Awareness Program aims to destigmatize mental illness and promote emotional well-being in our community. Through educational workshops, counseling services, and awareness campaigns, we strive to increase understanding and support for mental health issues. We collaborate with mental health professionals, local organizations, and community leaders to provide resources and support to those in need, fostering a culture of compassion and acceptance.
